It can detect more than 14,000 known viruses and employs advanced heuristic analysis techniques to detect unknown viruses and Trojans. It offers support for more than 20 languages, logging support, audio support, and a number of settings that enable you to control which drives and folders to scan and how detected viruses should be dealt with. RAV doesn't concern itself with a lot of bells and whistles -- the focus here is on thoroughness, simplicity, and ease of use.
